burning regulations


Open burning of landscape waste in unincorporated area of McHenry County is allowed, but subject to the following conditions:

Weekends Only during the months of October, November, April and May, between dawn and dusk.
The fire must be at least 30 feet
from any structure and constantly attended until the fire is extinguished.

Note:
Campfires are allowed for the pleasure provided
that the fire does not exceed 3 feet by 3 feet.
